• How much should a website cost?
  Fact:  Websites typically cost anywhere from $5-50 per month, depending on how much webspace you need and how you plan to sell your merchandise.  So to help you, let me share different scenarios with you that will hopefully give you a better picture.
   

• Standard small business website with no thrills & bells.
  Fact:  A standard website typically cost about $4-5 per month, so about $50 per year.  Many hosting companies offer various discounts and I typically pay about $50 per year, which includes the domain name and the hosting account.  The key is to figure out how much web space you will need.  The hosting accounts that I use for my websites offer 10GB of space and even though my retail website has over 1000 files and 4000 pictures, I have barely used more than 15% of my space.
   

• Online shopping carts.
  Fact:  The cost of a website with a shopping cart can range from $30-50 per month depending on the complexity of your website.  For example, a standard shopping typically cost about $20-30 per month and there are other fees you need to know about.  Most shopping carts cost about $150-300 to setup based on the size of your website and your requirements. After that, you also have to pay a monthly fee and keep in mind that you will be charged for every transaction.  Most fees are around 2.5-3% and that is addition to the monthly fees and one-time setup cost.
   

• Cost of search engine optimization.
