Search engine
optimization can be a very confusing and
daunting task, especially if you are a
beginner or have only limited knowledge
about web design. This is why I

owners who want to have a top ranking
website in Google and the other search
engines.
One of the first steps in
getting your website to rank high in Google
and the other search engines is to make sure
that your website is designed properly, so
that the search engines can find all of your
information and categorize it for the search
results. This is something that most
website owners take for granted and it is
one of the reasons why the vast majority of
websites never rank high in the search
engines for the keywords that matter most.
For example, most
websites are created using templates, which
require very little web design knowledge and
promise great results. The problem is
that if you use these commonly available web
design templates, you can have a great
looking website, but the search engines will
most likely hate your site. Again, if
you already have a website, take a look and
see how well you rank for the keywords that
matter most to you. Chances are, your
site is nowhere to be found and you will
have to resort to things like online ads
just to get a presence in the search
engines.
Search engines like
Google use programs called "spiders" and
these programs check out the billions of
websites and webpages to see which ones are
important to rank high and for what
keywords. The problem with most
websites is that they are not designed for
the search engines, so when the spiders find
your site and look at the contents, they
often turn around and leave or skip over the
contents.
One major hurdle for most search engine
spiders are frames, which are web design
tools commonly used in websites. If
you website is created using frames, then
your site will most likely not rank high in
Google and the other search engines. A
frame is nothing more than simple encoding
that allows you to control the layout of
your webpage, which is why frames are very
common in web design templates.
The problem with frames is that the search
engine spiders can not easily see the
contents inside the frames, so if your site
uses frames, you must get rid of them.
